Bernd Walz

Bernd Walz studied biology at the University of Heidelberg and has an appointment as a professor
for animal physiology at the University of Potsdam since 1995. Photography became his passion,
the creative and artistic counterweight to his life as a scientist. Photography allows him to slow down
his life. This aspect is the major reason that many of his images are very reduced, quiet and
minimalistic compositions. Landscape, macro- and aesthetic microphotography are his favoured
photographic areas.
Bernd Walz is a member of the DVF (Deutscher Verband für Fotografie) and the Society of German
Nature Photographers (Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen - GDT).
